Archangel Michael has worldwide recognition as being one of the most powerful angels of God. The story is, that he battles Satan regularly. This is not my experience of him, as he has always appeared to me with a loving presence.
Archangel Michael and Other Archangels
Archangels, also known as the “Chief Angels,” are powerful beings of light that serve as God’s messengers. These are the large Angels with huge wings that generally reach the ground. There's a lot of symbology in this, in that they bring the ability to fly, down to Earth for us earthlings. Archangels are mentioned in many religions including Gnosticism, Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Archangels are at the supposed top of the Angel hierarchy.
The word "Archangel" originally comes from the Greek and alludes to 'ruler' and 'messenger'. There seven Archangels normally talked about, although there could be more. The 7 Archangels that are widely recognized are:
Michael (Head of the Archangels), Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Raguel, Phaniel and Sariel.
