Special Lunar Events

Supermoons

A Supermoon occurs when the Moon is at its closest point to Earth in its orbit, making it appear larger and brighter in the night sky. This heightened luminosity is believed to amplify emotional, psychological, and spiritual energies, intensifying whatever themes the Full or New Moon represents. We typically experience three to four Supermoons each year, each bringing a more potent lunar influence than usual. In 2025 there are 3 consecutive supermoons in October, November and December.

Blue Moons

There are no Blue Moons in 2025. Next Blue Moon will be May 31, 2026.

Seasonal Blue Moon

A Seasonal Blue Moon happens when a season (between solstices or equinoxes) has four Full Moons instead of the usual three, with the third being called the Blue Moon. While rare, this extra Full Moon can shift the usual lunar cycle, subtly influencing the timing of seasonal energies.

Monthly Blue Moon

A Monthly Blue Moon is simply the second Full Moon in a single calendar month, occurring every two to three years. Despite its catchy name, it holds no real astrological significance—just an interesting quirk of our modern calendar system!

Solar and Lunar Eclipses

There will be 2 Solar Eclipses in 2025 on March 29 and September 21. There will be 2 Lunar Eclipses in 2025 on March 14 and September 8.

Solar Eclipse

A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon moves directly between the Earth and the Sun, temporarily blocking sunlight and casting a shadow on Earth. This dramatic celestial event often coincides with powerful new beginnings, revelations, or sudden shifts in direction. In astrology, Solar Eclipses are thought to bring fated events, pushing us toward necessary change, whether we're ready or not.

A Lunar Eclipse

A Lunar Eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, causing Earth's shadow to fall on the Moon. Depending on atmospheric conditions, the Moon can take on a reddish hue, earning it the name 'Blood Moon'—a symbol of transformation, endings, and deep emotional shifts. In astrology, Lunar Eclipses are linked to culmination points, illuminating hidden truths and pushing us to release what no longer serves us. They often mark turning points, especially in relationships and emotional cycles.

Lunar Power πŸŒ”

The Moon’s influence extends beyond the tides, subtly affecting emotions, instincts, and even sleep cycles. Studies suggest that emergency vet visits increase during Full Moons, hinting that animals—like humans—are naturally in sync with lunar rhythms. While some people report heightened emotions or erratic behavior under a Full Moon, others experience bursts of creativity or deep intuition. For me, every Full Moon I wake at 3am for 3 days, then my sleep pattern returns to normal for the rest of the month.

From menstrual cycles aligning with the Moon’s phases to ancient agricultural practices based on lunar timing, the Moon’s power weaves through nature, psychology, and spirituality in ways we’re only beginning to understand.

Next Full Moon Australia – Conclusion

Wherever you are in Australia, the next Full Moon will rise in all its brilliance, casting its glow across the night sky. In Sydney and along the east coast, you’ll see it rising in the eastern sky over the vast Pacific Ocean. Over in Perth, the Moon will also rise in the east, but with the Indian Ocean stretching behind you to the west. With Australia spanning multiple time zones, the exact moment of the Full Moon varies slightly depending on your location—but its influence is felt nationwide. Whether you’re watching from the city, the bush, or the beach, take a moment to soak in the Moon’s energy and whatever insights it may bring.
